The following are several methods of PCBA board testing:

PCBA board testing is a key step to ensure that high-quality, high-stability, and high-reliability PCBA products are delivered to customers, reduce defects in the hands of customers, and avoid after-sales. The following are several methods of PCBA board testing:

  1. Visual inspection ,Visual inspection is to look at it manually. Visual inspection of PCBA assembly is the most primitive method in PCBA quality inspection. Just use eyes and a magnifying glass to check the circuit of the PCBA board and the soldering of electronic components to see if there is a tombstone. , Even bridges, more tin, whether the solder joints are bridged, whether there is less soldering and incomplete soldering. And cooperate with magnifying glass to detect PCBA
  2. In-Circuit Tester (ICT) ICT can identify soldering and component problems in PCBA. It has high speed, high stability, check short circuit, open circuit, resistance, capacitance.
  3. Automatic optical inspection (AOI) automatic relationship detection has offline and online, and also has the difference between 2D and 3D. At present, AOI is more popular in the patch factory. AOI uses a photographic recognition system to scan the entire PCBA board and reuse it. The machine's data analysis is used to determine the quality of the PCBA board welding. The camera automatically scans the quality defects of the PCBA board under test. Before testing, it is necessary to determine an OK board, and store the data of the OK board in the AOI. Subsequent mass production is based on this OK board. Make a basic model to determine whether other boards are OK.
  4. X-ray machine (X-RAY) For electronic components such as BGA/QFP, ICT and AOI cannot detect the soldering quality of their internal pins. X-RAY is similar to chest X-ray machine, which can pass through Check the PCB surface to see if the soldering of the internal pins is soldered, whether the placement is in place, etc. X-RAY uses X-rays to penetrate the PCB board to view the interior. X-RAY is widely used in products with high reliability requirements, similar to aviation Electronics, automotive electronics
  5. Sample inspection Before mass production and assembly, the first sample inspection is usually carried out, so that the problem of concentrated defects can be avoided in mass production, which leads to problems in the production of PCBA boards, which is called the first inspection.
  6. The flying probe of the flying probe tester is suitable for the inspection of high-complexity PCBs that require expensive inspection costs. The design and inspection of the flying probe can be completed in one day, and the assembly cost is relatively low. It is able to check for opens, shorts and orientation of components mounted on the PCB. Also, it works well for identifying component layout and alignment.
  7. Manufacturing Defect Analyzer (MDA) The purpose of MDA is just to visually test the board to reveal manufacturing defects. Since most manufacturing defects are simple connection issues, MDA is limited to measuring continuity. Typically, the tester will be able to detect the presence of resistors, capacitors, and transistors. Detection of integrated circuits can also be achieved using protection diodes to indicate proper component placement.
  8. Aging test. After the PCBA has undergone mounting and DIP post-soldering, sub-board trimming, surface inspection and first-piece testing, after the mass production is completed, the PCBA board will be subjected to an aging test to test whether each function is normal, electronic components are normal, etc.
