She has a pair of clever hands “embroidery” on the PCB of the spacecraft

The 39-year-old “welder” Wang He has a pair of exceptionally white and delicate hands. In the past 15 years, this pair of skillful hands has participated in the manufacture of more than 10 space load projects, including the famous Shenzhou series, Tiangong series and Chang’e series.

Wang He is a worker at the Denso Technology Center of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2006, he has been engaged in aerospace PCB manual welding. If ordinary welding is compared to “sewing clothes”, her work can be called “embroidery”.

“Are these hands specially maintained to ensure exquisiteness and flexibility?” When asked by the reporter, Wang He couldn’t help but smile: “Aerospace products have strict quality requirements. We work in a constant temperature and humidity environment for many years, and we often work overtime. I don’t have time to do housework, my skin is naturally fair and tender.”

The Chinese name of PCB is printed circuit board, which is the support of electronic components, just like the “brain” of spacecraft, manual soldering is to solder the components to the circuit board.

Wang He told reporters that the first point of aerospace products is “high reliability.” Most of the components are expensive, and a small error in operation may cause hundreds of millions of dollars in losses.

Wang He has practiced a superb “embroidery”, and none of the nearly one million solder joints she has completed is unqualified. The inspection expert commented: “Each of her solder joints are pleasing to the eye.”

With his superb business ability and high sense of responsibility, Wang He always stands up at critical moments.

Once, the task of a certain model was tight, but some components in a circuit board had design flaws, which did not leave enough space for operation. Wang He faced the difficulties and relied on accurate hand feeling to complete all the welding.

On another occasion, due to operator error in a certain model task, multiple PCB pads fell off, and several million yuan equipment was facing scrap. Wang He took the initiative to ask Ying. After two days and two nights of hard work, he developed a unique repair process and quickly repaired the PCB in good condition, which was highly praised.

Last year, Wang He accidentally injured his eyes at work and his eyesight declined, so he had to switch to training.

Although she cannot participate in the project on the front line, she has no regrets: “One person’s abilities are limited, and the development of China’s aerospace industry requires countless pairs of hands. I was busy with work in the past, and I could only bring one apprentice, and now I can pass on many years of experience. To help more people and make more sense.”
